Professional I/O Connections

Console Application and Console Recall Plug-In
The Console application is Apollo Twin’s software control interface. Its intuitive, analog console-style design provides “realtime” tracking and monitoring with UAD Powered Plug-Ins — a feature not found in any other interface. Complete Apollo Twin Console setups can be saved as presets, or even saved within your sessions using the Console Recall plug-in (VST/AU/RTAS/AAX 64). This enables hardware recall of all Apollo Twin settings, even months and years after you last opened your session.

Sontronics Aria:
The Sontronics ARIA will give you stunning, beautiful results on every recording, thanks to its silky-smooth characteristics, its accurate response and our trademark Sontronics high-frequency roll-off.

Housed inside the chromed grille is a large, 1.07-inch, edge-terminated capsule that captures all the detail and subtleties of any male or female vocal (sung or spoken) while the hand-selected European 12AX7/ECC83 tube lends a character that you'd expect to find in a classic vintage valve mic.

For that extra level of control, the accompanying SPS-2 power supply unit boasts pad (0, -10dB) and filter (linear, 75Hz) switches as well as a tube-ready LED, letting you know when the mic is warmed up and at its best to record. Inside the unit is a pro-quality, medical-grade electricity filter to ensure that the power supply is pure and interference-free.

During the 12 months of ARIA's development, it has been beta-tested by top artists and musicians including producer/writer Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence & The Machine, Paul McCartney), singer/songwriter PJ Harvey, and also several engineers at Abbey Road Studios, all of whom now admit they can't live without their ARIAs! Notes

  • All measurements are taken at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz.
  • DSP % indicates the amount of resources required by one UAD plug-in instance on a single SHARC processor on a UAD-2 PCIe card. This measurement is from the System panel in the UAD Meter & Control Panel application (not the blue UAD Meter gauge, which shows averaged DSP loads of all available SHARC processors).
  • DSP savings and higher instance counts can be achieved with plug-ins marked with an asterisk ( * ) by disabling UAD-2 LoadLock (in the UAD Meter & Control Panel application) and turning off sections of the processor. See the UAD Plug-Ins Manual for details.
  • For plug-ins marked with a double asterisk ( ** ), the first number represents a UAD-2 PCIe QUAD card, while the second number represents a UAD-2 Satellite QUAD.
  • Apollo interfaces use UAD DSP and memory resources for its internal DSP mixer, therefore the UAD Meters will show some DSP and memory usage when Apollo is connected even if UAD plug-ins are not loaded, and instance counts in the chart are higher than available on Apollo-only systems.
  • The UAD system can process a maximum of 512 simultaneous UAD plug-in instances. High UAD plug-in counts (in the hundreds) may be constrained by overall system performance which is affected by host CPU loads, hardware I/O buffer settings, available bandwidth, the particular DAW in use, and related performance factors.
