"...its great value for a stereo EQ of this quality, and not much more than many high-quality mono EQs. All in all, then, I´ll give the RB500ME a big thumbs up"

RB500ME is a stereo passive equalizer packed into a double 500-series module. This beast is equipped with transformer balancing on inputs (Carnhill) and outputs (Edcor) as well as a discrete driver circuit. Of course the entire filtering section is passive and mirrors analogue equalizers from the 60s. There is separate frequency selector for low cut and boost sections. Top quality ELMA switches and pots were used to achieve outstanding performance.
The Rubber Bands is a wonderful tool that can add multiple levels of color to any track or mix. The best thing about, it is that you can set it up in various ways, all sounding clearly distinctive and great at the same. This is the device that gives the studio engineer an opportunity to add their own personality to the music.
"I used the IGS RB500ME for several weeks on a range of material, including commercial stereo tracks, stereo buses in my own mixes and a range of individual sources - while it´s billed as a stereo device and the controls operate on both channels at once, it is perfectly possible to use one channel of this EQ to shape mono sources, such as kick or bass guitar. The first thing to say is that this EQ sounds every bit as smooth, classy and effortless as the build quality leads you to anticipate. It´s clean and quiet, with no unpleasant audible distortion or unwanted clicks and pops when using the switches."
